one-day volunteer outreach event. In 2006 more than 4,800 volunteers from over

Community tasks. Some of these tasks include painting, clean-up, construction and repair
Care Day work for United Way agencies, schools, churches and in neighborhoods.

Knox and Pickaway Counties will join forces to help make a difference in their
respective communities.

from the needs in our community and how one day of work can make a positive impact
Community on people’s lives.
Care Day As a result of Community Care Day, agencies, schools, churches and
neighborhoods save thousands of dollars in manpower costs,
channeling these resources directly back into programs and services
for the community.

COMPANY COORDINATORS
♦ PROMOTE United Way Community Care Day 2008 within your company and recruit volunteers. Talk it up!

• COMPLETE registration form ONLINE and mail or drop off your Liability and Photo Release Forms for
staff members to United Way of Central Ohio. DUE THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2008

♦ CONTACT, COMMUNICATE, CONFIRM and SCHEDULE! Project Sites will be assigned by Thursday,
August 7, 2008. Once a Project Site has been assigned to you, CONTACT the Project Site coordinator and
COMMUNICATE what your company will be providing for the site: volunteers, materials and other needs.
CONFIRM what the Project Site will provide: materials, tools, lunches, drinking water. SCHEDULE a site visit with
your Project Site.

♦ MATCH YOUR VOLUNTEERS Once you receive your projects, assign your volunteers to locations and
tasks that are appropriate.

♦ SIGN UP your volunteers. Complete the Volunteer Sign Up Form and Volunteer Liability and Photo Release Forms.

♦ PICK UP AND DELIVER Volunteer T-shirts, Volunteer Names and Signed Liability/Photo Release Forms.
