Thatbeingsaid,Iunderstandthereasonswhythiscannothappen.Inordertomakeeffortsto
stopthecheating,Iwouldpersonallytryahybridapproachofbothmethods.Iwoulduse
discoverylearningtointroducenewcontent,havestudentswitnessandbeinterestedinthe
mysteriesofeachnewconcept,andoncetheyhavehadthechancetowrestlewithaconcept,I
wouldthenshowthemhowmoderndaycurriculumprefersmathbetaught.Forexample,in
teachingalessoninvolvinggeometry,Imightfirsthavemyselfandthestudentscomeupwith
ourownwayofsolvingtheproblemtogether,includinghowwemightwanttolabelourpoints,
lines,anglesetc,andthenafterdoingthisIwouldmoveontohowamathtextbookwouldlabel
andsolvethiskindofproblem.
