Self-Evaluation / Reflection:
Explaining things takes more time than expected because of the energy in the room. Need
to think of a faster strategy to have class pay attention. I have done class expectations and
appropriate wait time, referring back to the wall about respect and listening to others as
they speak. These work, it still just takes time away from class learning. I will make a
seating plan and explain how important it is to be listening while teacher or another is
speaking to make a better learning environment. Especially while giving directions so the

task is clear. I could also have created partners instead of letting them pick their own.
With the grade 7 class I gave them the website to look at, still ran out of time. There are a
lot of rules in football, and for a new sport none of them have played this turned out to be a
larger task than expected. I will revise it for next class so students will be looking at a
certain aspect of football instead of all of it.
