Unit 4 Vocabulary
-You will create a flashcard for each word listed.
-Flash card words will be assigned each week.
-It is your responsibility to keep up with your vocabulary
-For words that have a star next to them, you will create a Marzanos
vocabulary graphic organizer.
-Flash cards/Marzanos graphic organizers are due with your INB on test day.

Arithmetic Sequence: the difference between consecutive terms is


constant
Common Difference: the difference between consecutive terms in a
sequence
**Dependent Variable: changes in response to another variable
**Domain: set of x values
**Explicit Formula: a function rule that relates each term of a
sequence to the term number
**Function: a relationship that pairs each input value with exactly one
output value
**Independent Variable: value that affects the dependent variable
Input: values of the independent variable
Linear Function: a function whose graph is a nonvertical line or part of
a nonvertical line
Nonlinear Function: a function whose graph is not a line or part of a line
Output: values of the dependent variable
**Range: set of y values
**Recursive Formula: a function rule that relates each term of a
sequence after the first to the ones before it
Relation: a pairing of numbers in one set
Sequence: an ordered list of numbers that often form a pattern
Vertical Line Test: if a vertical line passes through more than one point
of a graph, there is more than one range value for a domain value and
the relation is not a function
