Experiments on the curatorial practices of Tsinghua University Art Museum

Abstract
University museum is built on a network of staff, museums, universities, libraries,
government, visitors, donors and communities. Besides collaborations, it is relevant
to the shared learning experiences, to encouraging interdisciplinary development.
Learning is a social experience, causing the network of university museum
sustained naturally. However, this digital age is speedily reshaping socializing
through multi-media. It is somehow broadening the learning methods, and
expanding the definition of learning. What networking mechanism could create
more up-to-date learning experiences at university museum? And how would they
challenge the traditional ones?
This study looked beyond the technology at the impacted multi-learning system
for university museums. Through experiments, it was to explore the mechanism
pushing the network of university museum evolving with the time. There were four
chapters: The first explored the entrepreneurial traits of social learning: What if
the museum become a place of learning events? The second discussed how digital
revolution shaped the conversational learning , influenced the relationship of
crowdsourcing and personalized learning. Additionally, how phygital fluency
contributed and challenged the learning process ; The third part recorded the
experiments at Tsinghua University Art Museum. It thereby measured How to
embed the co-authorship to the curatorial mechanism, How multi-disciplined
audiences would build conversations with collections through wall texts, and The
technology to deliver these ; The last chapter was a reflection of adopted method
co-creation to initiate more discussion on the approach.
