Disruptive

Thinking

The mantra is We do not merely want to be the best of the best. We want to
be the only ones who do what we do.

A solution which transforms a constraint into a benefit. In Chennai the metro rail is an
example. The roadway becomes the rail-bed for elevated transport system.
Disruptive thinking often creates a radically new relationship between resources. So
when you think about the folks who are making bio-fuel from plants is a new
relationship among inputs and outputs.
Disruptive thinking often radically changes the scale of an innovation. Eco-friendly
buildings of large size saving tonnes of natural resources is an example.

Disruptive thinking sometimes comes simply from radically lower cost at higher
volume. One example is a hospital in Bangalore performing around 6000 heart
surgeries in a year at a very low cost.

Disruptive thinking sometimes unearths a desire or a market that no-one thought was
there. Facebook is an example.

Disruptors are innovators, but not all innovators are disruptors

Disruption displaces an existing market, industry, or technology and produces
something new and more efficient and worthwhile.
