6 Government policies and legislation (please provide a brief description of policy/
legislation which will be covered in the report and describe how national and local legislation
is passed in your country):
The report will touch on foundational education provision and continuous eduation and
training provisions, covering legislations such as the Compulsory Education Act, Skills
Development Levy Act and Lifelong Learning Endowment Fund Act. A Bill has to go through
three Readings before it can be passed by Parliament, and thereafter sent to the President
for his assent for it to become an Act of Parliament.
