ABILITY TEST

1 WHAT IS ABILITY TEST?

To assess potential candidates in terms of their overall intellectual potential


and build a profile of their underlying strengths and weaknesses.
Also called Aptitude Test and are generally standardized. Usually use in job
hiring or career preferences.

USES:
1. GENERAL/GLOBAL ABILITY TEST
2. SPECIFIC COGNITIVE ABILITIES
3. PSYCHOMOTOR ABILITIES AND SPECIFIC APTITUDES
1.1 Attempt to measure persons ability to solve problem, analyze and understand
new situations and challenges.
2.2 Complex problem solving, analytical reasoning (Verbal and Numerical). High
level cognitive processing
3.3 Motor dexterity -is the coordination of small muscles, in movementsusually
involving the
synchronization of hands and fingerswith the eyes.
Artistic ability - includes skills and talent to create fine works of art: painting,
drawing, sculpting, musical composition, etc. Creativity ability is the skill and talent
to use our imagination to create and solve
Mechanic ability -are commonly administered for technical and engineering
positions. The mechanical aptitude test measures your ability to understand and
apply mechanical concepts and principles to solve problems.
Leadership potential has good personality behavior, competencies and
emotional maturity.

WHAT IS CRYSTALLIZED INTELLIGENCE?


Is the ability to use skills, knowledge an experience. It does not
equate to memory, but it does rely on accessing information from
long-term memory.
Is defined as the ability to use learned knowledge and
experience.
