PREFACE
The research provides an opportunity to a student to demonstrate
application of his / her knowledge. Skill and competencies required
during the technical session. Research also helps the student to devote
his/her skills to analyze the problem to suggest alternative solutions to
evaluate them and to provide feasible recommendations on the provided
data.
Although I have tried my level best to prepare this report an error free
report every effort has been made to offer the most authenticate position
with accuracy.
The project is entitled Purchase Management for IPF Vikram India Ltd
There are many reasons to choose this project. Being a commerce
graduate, I was very much interested in doing my project in a
manufacturing company and what better could it have been than to do it
in IPF, the contract manufacturing company for the brand like HUL,
Pantaloon , Arvind Mills etc.
It was a challenging task to interact with the vendors, intermediaries
directly, understanding their needs and listening to their complaints.
Overall it was quite a rewarding experience to work with IPF Vikram
India LTD, the quality oriented manufacturing company for HUL in
India, with the excellent and one of best quality products.

DECLARATION
I hereby declare that the Project Report entitled

MANAGEMENT.

any degree or any professional diploma.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
5

The project titled Purchase Management gave me an opportunity to

apply my theoretical concepts to the practical aspects of the working of a
company. It helped me in understanding these concepts in a much better
way.
The project required interacting with all the hierarchy involved in the
process of buying raw materials for manufacturing of detergent powder,
detergent cake, toilet & premium bathing soap, Sulphonic acid both on
phone as well as over the meeting.
The survey was conducted to identify buyers and vendors needs and the
problems faced by them regularly. The open-ended & close-ended
questionnaire was used for the survey that helped to understand the
buyers needs, their problems and recommended solutions. Apart from
this the survey also helped to understand the areas where buyers feel
satisfied with the services that they are being provided with by the
vendors and intermediaries.
After the analysis of questionnaires, interpretations were done;
observations and recommendations were made which were then handed
over to the company for taking the suggested corrective actions, if any.
Various concepts that proved to be helpful during the project wereconcepts of purchase process & concepts of MR such as exploratory
research, descriptive research, Questionnaire designing. SWOT analysis
are the models used for analysis
