A Person Who Has Made a Difference: Janu Muhammad
Janu helped to change my mind about volunteering and writing. He is one of my
friends on Facebook. I interested in his activities, because they were different from my usual
activities. He was a volunteer in a library in his village. The library became a place for
children to study and enjoy reading books. As a media to realize the future generation, library
had a huge challenge, because of the decline in public interest in reading. The prices of some
books were not afford by the villagers, causing a lack of reading materials for children in the
village. This library is expected to improve equal access to education for villagers and
improve the nations intelligence and enhanced ability to participate in development activities.
He also become an living example for the children in his village, what is the result of diligent
in read and write. From his writtings, he can be a winner, a delegation and speaker in ASEAN
University Youth Summit, Indonesian Youth Summit, Young Engineers and Scientist Summit,
Leaders and Youth Enviromental Summit. He publish two books, title I Believe I Can Fly and

Persembahan Cinta untuk Ayah dan Bunda. From what he does, it is not surprise that he
become the Indonesia delegation in the Southeast Asian Young Leaders program Initiantive at
Arizona State University.
