Game Objective
Save himl Rescuethe oanicked man from the
burning warehouse. As the fire spreads higher,
he climbs a floor at a time to escapethe blaze.
He reachestreacherous heights. Only by
reaching him with the ladder can he be saved.
Put out flames with your hose. Raceback to the
engine,jump on and scrambleup the ladder.
Snatch him from his fiery peril! Get movingl

Console Controls
Insert cartridge in console, label up. Turn
power switch to on.
Flip Game SelectLever to choose one of the
nine Fire Fighter games.
Game number appears at bottom of screen,
right of center.
I Hit Game ResetLever to begin action. Game
begins again whenever ResetLever is tapped.
:.. Red button on the left joystick will reset game
when previous game ends.

Game Play
You directall rescueoperationswith the left
joystick.As the game begins,the fire fighter
appearson the fire engine.
'ij Pushjoystick left (away from engineland the
fire fighterhops off his engine.
& Keeppressingleft, and he runs acrossthe
sidewalkin front of the warehouse.
i$ Stop pushing joystick and the
fire fighter stands still.
st Pushjoystick right (toward
the enginel and the fire
fighter turns and runs
back toward the fire

jump backonto the engine.

Your hose allows you to control the spreadof

flamesor put the fire out completely.
To launcha streamof water:
rlsThe fire fighter must be in front of the
warehouse.
w Pushthejoystick away from you. The longer
you push,the higher the jet of water goes.
Water shootsas high as the top windows of
the warehouse.lt does not reachthe roof.

Ladder
The fire enginealso comesequippedwith a
ladder.The trapped man can only be savedfrom
the warehouse,and the game won, by usingthe
ladder.The laddercan reachany floor of the
warehouseexceptthe roof. lf the fire fighter
positionsthe ladderaccurately,climbsit and gets
to the floor on which the man is trapped,the
fire fighter can rescuehim.
w Firefighter must be on the ground while
adjustingthe ladder.
w He can only jump from the ladderto the
ground when he is at the bottom of the
ladder.
To changethe angleof the ladderso it will
reachdifferent floors:
ffi Pull the ladderin all the way by holding
the red button down while pullingjoystick
toward you. The laddercannot be moved
while it is extended.

Fire Fighting Tips

ft The trapped man staysaheadof the fire by
climbinga floor at a time. Learnto estimate
how fast the fire is moving and how quickly
he's moving through the warehouse.Place
the ladderand havethe fire fighterclimbso
he'll reachthe man'sfloor and rescuehim
beforehe moveshigher in the warehouse.
* The man in the blazingbuildingchecksto see
if the entirefloor below him is stillon fire.lf it
isn't,he'll move down.
# When the fire fighter is on the engine,the
man in the warehousemovesto a window
on the right sideof the building so the ladder
can reachhim. He may be scared,but he isn't
stupid!
tffiListenfor the crackleof the fire. Even if the
fire appearsto be out, it may still be burning.
When the fire goesout completely,the
cracklingstops.
