Affton Community Days Parade & Festival

Parade
The Saturday, Sept. 24 parade
begins at 10 a.m. from Affton High
School, 8309 Mackenzie Road, travels
south on Mackenzie Road, then east
on Weber Road, then west on Gravois
Road. The route continues west along
Gravois Road to Mackenzie, where
it then heads south to the festival
location at Affton White-Rodgers
Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie
Road.
Shuttle buses will be available
for parade participants from Affton
High School, 8309 Mackenzie Road,
and Rogers Middle School, 7550
Mackenzie Road. Look for signs
designating where the bus will pick
up and drop off.
Shuttles will run from 8:15 a.m.
to 9:15 a.m. prior to the parade and
then after the parade until 12:30
p.m. After this time, there will be no
shuttle buses to or from Affton WhiteRodgers Community Center and
Rogers Middle School.
A parade of classic cars will kick
off the annual parade followed by
Chief Jon Belmar and Capt. Jeff
Fuesting of the St. Louis County

Following the first responders will
be the VIP cars including Parade
Grand Marshal Phyllis Smith, a
Lemay native best known for playing
Phyllis Vance in the TV series The
Office. She also had the critically
acclaimed voice role as Sadness in the
film Inside Out.

remainder of the parade as the first
parade entry.
Feed My People and the Affton
Christian Food Pantry will be
collecting canned goods along the
parade route.
Judges will be located in front of
Gateway Insurance, 9302 Gravois
Road. Entries will be judged and
winners announced for the following
categories: Theme of Parade, Judges
Choice, Most Original Entry, Best
Church Entry and Best School Entry.
The marching bands from Affton
and Bayless school districts will
participate again this year.

The Affton Days Committee has provided an
exciting array of entertainers. Juggling Jeff,
a high energy, comedic juggling show takes
the stage at noon. At 1 p.m., Sammy J Balloon
Creations will take the stage to amaze and
entertain with a visually inviting, humorous
show. Bill Forness will perform a memorable
tribute to the Man in Black, Johnny Cash, at 2
p.m.
New this year is a favorite local band, A
Ticket to the Beatles, to perform from 3 to 5 p.m.
