MOTOCROSS IS TOO DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE BANNED

Motocross is a high risk discipline where an error could be your last. The most recent
example occurred on May 5th, in Honduras. The pilot died as a result of multiple fractures
caused by the accident. It seems to me that it is very dangerous and could also harm the
spectators.
First of all, this sport is very expensive and it requires a starting investment of $180,000
pesos, approximately.

To practice it, you need a costumed motorcycle, gasoline,

equipment and a special track, which are regularly outside the city and not everyone can
afford it.
Secondly, regardless of the security equipment, an accident can be lethal, not only for the
pilot, but for the spectators around the track. There have been cases were the pilot loses
control of his motorcycle and the people watching gets hurt. Regularly Deaths In this sport
are Caused by multiple blows and fractures, internal bleeding and contusions. the
percentage of death in this sport is due to failures motorcycles.
On the other hand, people like it because of the adrenaline it causes and they say it is fun.
Maybe this sport could be expensive and mortal in some cases, but it could also benefit the
pilots. The starting investment could be high, but if you are good enough you can get
sponsored. In Mexico, a recognized pilot can earn up to $40 thousand pesos in a month for
competing in championships. This income could be higher if the sponsors are from
international brands or championships, a very tempting reason to start investing.
In conclusion, we strongly disagree and believe that it should be banned regardless of the
profit it could generate, not everyone gets to be a professional pilot. An accident could cost
the life of the pilot or of a spectator, which will result in collateral damage. Is it worth it to
risk yours or others physical integrity? Is it worth your life?
