Project Title To reduce the waiting time for chapattis in Hostels Mess during Lunch time (1:30 pm to 2:15
pm)
Problem Statement Last two months of study showed that it takes around 10 minutes for a student to get 2
chapattis during Lunch. This leads to creation of bottleneck near the food counter due to which the
students get impatient and sometimes aggressive. They further get late for the classes and generally
miss the attendance. Students have started skipping Lunch and it further leads to wastage of hostel food.
Project Objective To make the chapattis available to students by reducing the waiting time from 10 to 2
minutes within 2 months
Scope
Focus will be on the ground floor mess of first years hostel. The process improvement will be limited to lunch
time, only during weekdays, and will impact 331 students.

Project Title
2.
The title by which the project will be identified. Try to emphasize the outcome, i.e.,
result (y) rather than the method (x).
Problem Statement
Poor Example: Our customers are angry with us and we are getting penalty.
Good Example: In the past 6 months the First Time Quality in Group D of UHC account is very
poor. It is ranging between 90% and 93% against the customer requirement of 97%. This leads
to a rework of 30% that in-turn increases the rework cost. This also affects the overall TAT.
