Executive Summary
The purpose of this report was to investigate an Binusian Architecture Community
(HIMARS) in Binus University.

HIMARS (Binusian Architecture Community) is an organization that helps Binusian

architecture college student to study well and to be the best student organization in
Indonesia. Today HIMARS has already become the best organization in Binus
University period 2015-2016 which is in the right way to achieve their goals to
become the best national student organization. HIMARS is also active in many
architecture competitions and also working on their goals, which is to take their
fellow to be the winner.
The strengths of this organization can be seen from many national and international
achievements that this unit has achieved. In HIMARS, the member will learn a lot of
things about architecture organization. The reason for their success is because of
their perseverance and their loyalty to the organization itself. Architecture is already
becoming the third hardest majority in the world and it makes architecture student
became stressful of doing their works even its in holiday time. But thats not an
obstacle for a HIMARS member, thats become a challenge for them to maintain
their student works and also to maintain the organization needs. Time control is the
most important thing in this organization, and also the most important thing for
their member whose are all Binusian active architecture college student. HIMARS
also starts to make relations with architecture college community in national wide
and hope soon will have relation with international architecture college community.
However, there is also some unit that needs improvement. For example, some
members are often late when there is an organization meeting. This really needs
attention from all of HMARS member if they want to become the best national
organization. Also when the meeting was just starting, some members also dont
give full attention in the meeting which shows disrespectful attitude to the meeting
leader. This problem really needs to be fixed soon.
After taking both strengths and weaknesses into consideration its appropriated that
HIMARS became the best organization in Binus University. But they also need to
develop their programs more carefully. Because of the importance and big vision of
the organization, it makes some of its committee fails in their class. Its important to
manage their member together to help their committee to run the organization so
that the needs of the HIMARS itself can together be certified.

3. Discussions
3.1 Organization Structure
Generally, HIMARS consists of four big departments, which are Public Relation
Division, The Education Division, Division of Funds and Assets, Documentation
and Design Division. Each department has its own coordinator and coordinator
deputy. These departments are responsible under the secretary and treasurer,
which are coordinated by the president of HIMARS.

3.2 Management and Leadership Style

All Board Management at HIMARS are carefully selected, and each of them plays an
important role in running the organization. The core representative councils have a
responsible to supervise project managers in managing the events and projects. The
Project Managers are selected from the HIMARS member, not just the crew of
HIMARS. So basically, every architecture student can participate in becoming the
project managers by passing a series of interviews and presentations. The Project
Managers will choose every coordinator for each division, so the management of
work is in order and it will be obvious who is responsible for who.

3.3 Resource Development

In order to develop resource in HIMARS, there are several activities such as
academic development, organization development, and social walfare. Academic
development is an activity to develop resource in the field of academic.
Organization development is consists of the activity to develop organizational
attitude by a training method. Social walfare is for the enhancement of the
saturation charts.

3.4 Marketing and Promotion

HIMARS organization got its promotion from the social media and media partner of
the events. HIMARS have its own social media, such as in instagram or line. The
public relation and the other division of HIMARS will help to promote HIMARS.
HIMARS also has developed an online shop for curated products based in Jakarta,
Indonesia. Arc and Co, developed in 2014 is the online shop founded by HIMARS and
also the way of HIMARS to deliver its idea of product design, based its architectural
academic background.

4. Conclusion
After investigating HIMARS by a brief analysis, it was found that there are a lot of
good aspect to be kept and developed by HIMARS and a few things that need to be
considered to fixed. One of them is a time management, every crew or even
member should respect other member better regarding the time accuracy and
should be paying attention to someone whos speaking, leading or in charge of the
meeting. But beside all of that, i found that HIMARSs member has started to have
an awareness because HIMARS itself wants to be the best national organization. The

member starts to get along with each other, from the junior member even to the
precident of HIMARS himself has started to associately intimate to the junior. I can
see it by the progress of HIMARS that developed a refreshing events, one of them is
watch with HIMARS. Its an event where junior and senior members gather to watch
a movie in the cinema, this is a good way to strengthen the relation between the
senior and the junior members so that they may respect each other. Also, HIMARS
has began to show an amazing achievement regarding in terms of organization,
which is being the best organization in Binus University 2015/2016 period. This has
shown a process of realization of the vision and missions of HIMARS.

5. Recommendations and Implementation
