The POD Relays & Events

The MRHS had their annual POD Relays & Activities and mid-season
party. Cash Money Aquatics took first in the relays beating out The
DeMermaids. Jerrikas Jelly Fishies and The Manditees tied for 3rd.
Peters Punmkin Eaters and Hollis Hippos rounded out the bottom
two. The DeMermaids won the Human Scavenger Hunt event. In
the biggest event of the day, The Belly Flop contest, it was too
close to call at the pool. Ashley Spartz was the heavy favorite and
looked ready to defend her belly flop title from last year. No one
has ever gone back to back, or should we say belly to belly. The
Ogdens, brother Jake and sister Kaylee looked to see if their
summer training in Europe paid off. Ryan Plutowski took a season
off from soccer to train for this very event. Newcomers Olivia
Hansen and Brayton Joyner were just happy to be there. The
judges had to go back to the video to take a better look. The
judges looked at entry angle, hang time and arm & leg extension.
The winner of the 2016 Belly Flop Contest is: Ryan Plutowski. All your
training and sacrifice paid off. Ashley Spartz placed 2nd in the
closest finish in belly flop history losing by only .0000001 points. The
siblings Jake and Kaylee tool 3rd and 4th with Olivia Hansen and
Brayton Joyner rounding out the bottom two.
