PRONOUNS
v The Definition of a pronoun is: is a word that takes the place of a
noun.
v For example: In the sentence The girl is happy. We can change it
to, She is happy.

v She, replaces, The girl.

LETS TA LK ABOUT FIRST

PERSON PRONOU NS
v In first person, when the narrator is by himself, he says, I AM
HAPPY! We use the pronoun I, because the narrator is saying it
about himself.

FIRST GROUP.
v When a group is talking in first person, together they say, WE ARE
HAPPY! We replace The group, with we.

SECOND PERSON!
v When the narrator is talking in second person, the narrator says Are
you happy? The pronoun here is you.

SECOND!
v The second group tells the First group, YOU ARE HAPPY!

THIRD PERSON.
v In third person the narrator refers to the boy as, he is happy.
Replacing the boy, with he.

THIRD!
v The third person describes the girl as , She is happy! Replacing
the girl, with she.

THIRD!
v In third person, the narrator can refer to a dog as the pronoun it,
instead of the dog.

THIRD!
v When the third person narrator refers to a group of people, we can
replace the group, with they.

PRO NOU NS!

v Pronoun is a word that can function by itself as a noun phrase and that
refers either to the participants in the discourse. Depending on the person
saying the pronoun determines what pronoun he or she will use. If its in first
person, the person is describing him/herself using I am. When using
second person, the person will use you to describe other people, for
example I am me, and YOU are YOU. Third person describes others
using he, she, it, and they. To figure out which pronoun to use, one must
always make sure to know which person is speaking, first, second, or third.
