FADE IN:
INT - PRISON HOLDING CELL - DAY
A small spartan room, with one desk, empty with the exception
of a door, a security camera, and an empty desk with two
chairs on either side. Henry Callahan (mid to late 20s)
wearing a red boiler suit is seated at one, he is handcuffed
and chained to the table, staring intently at the door in
front of him.
The door locks disengage, the handle turns and the door
slowly swings open, and Jacob Callahan, (late 20s early
30s) steps through. He looks at his brother, fidgeting
softly with the door handle. Henry smiles.
HENRY
So? How did it go?
JACOB
You need to ask?
HENRY
Not really. But itd be nice to
have something a little more
concrete than my own suspicions.
JACOB
You chose not to make a statement.
HENRY
Yeah. Lawyers are a bunch of weasly
bastards, better I dont humiliate
myself. How did it go?
JACOB
You left fingerprints, witnesses,
chemicals a five year old could
match and the yellow brick paper
trail. Not exactly hiding youre
involvement, yet you pleaded not
guilty? Why?
HENRY
Because I can. Despite the evidence
against me Im allowed a not guilty
plea. Why shouldnt I take it?
Considering the charges itll
hardly affect my sentence
JACOB
(mumbles) I wouldnt be so sure.

2.
JACOB (CONT'D)
What about everyone else? The
families of the victims. What about
our family?
HENRY
(Mockingly) You mean why put them
through my trial after theyve been
through so much already?
Yes

JACOB

HENRY
Makes no difference to me. Its not
my fault that they didnt listen. I
let everyone know what was going to
happen. That no one was going to
stop it. They just didnt take me
seriously enough.
JACOB
Well you got their attention now.
HENRY
Exactly. Now they know just how
vulnerable their precious system
is.
JACOB
So that was worth lives was it?
HENRY
You cant make a point if there
arent any consequences. They had a
choice, they chose to ignore me.
JACOB
What about Maddie Carman, did she
have a choice? Elias Linford,
Carson Barret, the other dozen kids
you put in a coma? Did they have a
choice before you blew up their
school?
HENRY
When you need a distraction, few
other things can kick up more fuss.
More than anything else a bombing
attracts media attention, which
expands awareness to a worldwide
scale. If youre trying to make a
point, thats the most effective
way to get everyones attention.
