8. Point end of fuel hose into a container below top of tank.

Depress the ball in the fuel connector until any remaining fuel
is expelled.
9. Add air to bring pressure back to 10 psi (69 kPa).
f51 10. Close air release valve @ on adapter and remove Stevens
E.J pressure tester.

11 . Submerge fuel tank in water, one portion at a time, in the

same manner you would check a tire for air leaks. Any air bubbles
indicate a leak point which must be repaired or replaced.
f61 12. Disconnect hose from tank. With fuel connector housing

EI submerged, check for leakage from fuel nipple and fuel

valve pin @ . Depress vent valve pin to check air vent disc valve
for leakage .
f51 13. After testing, open release valve @ on adapter to release

EJ tank pressure before removing cap.

Remove the shift yoke with long-nose pliers .

1131 10 .. Remove the shifter lever pivot pin . Discard the pivot pin
O-rmg .

1141 11. Remove the propeller shaft and reverse gear components
from the gearcase.

12. Using a magnetic tool, locate and remove the two shifter
detent balls and one detent spring from the gearcase.

13. Use long-nose pliers to remove the clutch dog and shifter

lever assembly. Use no force. Tilting the shifter lever slightly

will allow you to remove it from the gearcase.

1171 14. Remove the forward bearing, forward gear, pinion, pinion
thrust bearing, and two pinion thrust washers.
