DESCRIPTION
The EPS-1000A Electronic Phase Shifter is a fieldportable, self-contained, third-generation test set that
graphically displays the voltage configuration. It requires a
single-phase voltage input and provides a selectable
single-phase, phase-to-phase or three-phase voltage source
output for testing complex protective relays.
Model EPS-1000A graphically displays all selected voltage
and phase angle settings. This feature provides the unique
capability for the operator to visualize the voltage source
configuration while testing. The graphic screen displays
these voltages and phase angle settings along with an
extensive range of capabilities for modifying specific
testing applications.
APPLICATIONS
Model EPS-1000A is a compatible test set for testing threephase protective relays with SR-90, SR-76 and SR-51 test
sets. When used with a Multi-Amp relay test set, Model
EPS-1000A allows testing of a variety of complex relays.
The protective relays and their respective IEEE device
numbers are listed in the preceding table.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Output voltages and phase angles are independently or

simultaneously selectable and fully adjustable in
performing three-phase or phase-to-phase tests.

Voltage phase angles are adjustable from 0 to 360 to

provide multiple fault testing parameters and calibration
settings.

Programmable delayed switching from Normal to Fault

to Post-Fault conditions automatically simulates a
dynamic test.

Saves up to 60 individual test files for identifying each

protective relay test using 19 ASCII characters.

Option screen allows operator full, customized use of

Model EPS-1000A for testing complex protective relays.
Unit offers easy setup of individual test parameters.

Compatible with five languages: English, Spanish,

German, Portuguese, French and Japanese.

Recessed front panel eliminates the need for a front

panel cover.

Timer Contacts
