Manufacturing companies traditionally make products for end-users. In Rogaland this was the normal
situation to approximate 1990 but in other locations like Denmark, this are still the main situation.
Many companies in Rogaland have changed strategy, structure etc to work business to business as
equipment or service vendors. This was a consequence of a move to petroleum industry markets.
What are the operational options for industry to stay competitive and sustainable in an international
market direct or indirect influenced by a petroleum price that may go below 40 $/b? Focus on one or a
limited number of business types and related Supply Chain.
