Traveled to an Amazon fulfillment center in Canada to help improve a struggling outbound operation; trained
managers in best practices and made recommendations for change that led to WoW productivity improvements and
drastically reducing their CE misses from more than 5,000 misses per week to less than 600 misses per week.
Developed and implemented improvement strategies for General Dynamic using Lean principles that led to YOY
increases in direct labor utilization, exceeding 92%, as well as decreases in overhead costs by as much as 33%.
Wrote manufacturing material and contract proposals and participated in contract negotiations that yielded
$300M in sales; established cost proposals and justifications for corporate management and external customers.
Served as Project Team Leader for a multimillion-dollar project for the NSAs complex encryption/decryption

Managed the Phoenix Fulfillment Center in outbound operations from 2011 to 2015, and then relocated to an Amazon
Robotics (AR) Fulfillment Center in Fort Worth to direct outbound and inbound operations.
Led sort sites with singles expansion for the peak of business 2015, resulting in the AR sortable buildings across the
network adding 1.3 million units of singles capacity by leveraging a capital investment of $300K.
Drove outbound service to achieve 40.2% YOY increase in volume in 2014 as well as an 8% YoY improvement in
productivity during peak week; proved vital to building achieving 107.8% of its operational plan.
Drove a strong safety culture, including an emphases on detailed safety incident investigations; lowered recordable
injuries from 16 in 2012 to 12 in 2013 (a 25% YoY improvement) and achieved a 1.4 RIR score.
Led site during peak weak 2012 (in the absence of the General Manager), ensuring team achieved peak goals.
Developed area and operations managers through active coaching, providing project, launch, and process

NATIONAL SYSTEMS DIVISION (NSD): DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, LOGISTICS AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT (2006-2011)
Promoted to launch a new division with focused on manufacturing operations, large system deployment, integrated
logistics support, field engineering/maintenance, and customer support. Managed 150+ staff and $12M budget while
directing multiple programs operations, logistics, and maintenance support; programs were valued at $200M+.
Directed development of manufacturing strategies, deployment strategies, and maintenance/support strategies for
several programs, including the US Coast Guards Rescue 21 program, the Department of Justices Integrated
Wireless Network program, the US Navys MUOS program, and various other DOD programs.
Championed the divisions operational cost control efforts that resulted in more than $2M of savings in 2010.

Defined and deployed manufacturing strategies that doubled production throughput on the Rescue 21 program;
also launched a system support and maintenance strategy for the program that facilitated 24/7 support and
surpassed the customer requirement of 99.5% availability.
Proved vital to the team that developed a logistics career ladder for the company as well as defining strategy
roadmaps for operations and logistics; also served on the team that reduced operations overhead 32%.

COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKS DIVISION (CND): DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS (2003-2006)


Moved to CND when the Information Security, Systems and Products Division split into two divisions. Integrated the
portion of ISSPD which moved into the new CND organization as well as programs that were moved from other divisions.
Restructured the Radio Products Factory using Lean principles, implementing cellular manufacturing, kanbans, and
5S techniques; improved profit 20%, reduced test equipment charges 20%+, and decreased cycle times 40% while
freeing up more than 1,100 sq. ft. as a result.
Drove continuous improvement activities that cut overhead 15% and created $2.6M+ cost savings for the company.
Implemented rigorous problem solving techniques to improve cost and schedule performance of the Navys Digital
Modular Radio program, returning more than $6M to the program office.

INFORMATION SECURITY, SYSTEMS AND PRODUCTS DIVISION (ISSPD): DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS (1996-2003)
Joined division as a Senior Staff Engineer and Project Leader and rose to Director of Operations. Effectively managed
budgets, company and division initiatives, employee development, resource management, and strategic planning. Team
included test engineers, material management, and manufacturing personnel.
Achieved product margins ranging from 45% to 70% through continuous improvements initiatives in the factories.
Developed business cases and strategies and implemented make/buy decisions leading to the outsourcing of some
manufacturing functions; improved cost in excess of 10% as a result.
Led the KGV-135 team in improving quality and reducing cycle time, enabling project to complete several months
ahead of schedule; improved yields and facilitated all-on sales of $330K for the year.
Provided project management for a $76M NSA contract involving ground and aerospace encryption equipment as
well as special test equipment; project required interaction with organizations such as engineering, manufacturing,
configuration management, contracts, National Security Agency, and Defense Contract Management Command.

Officer, Logistics Group Executive Officer, and Chief of Supply at the 161 Air Refueling Wing and Logistics Squadron in
Phoenix, AZ. Also served as Transportation Officer for 126 Air Refueling Wing and Logistics Squadron in Chicago, IL and
Communications Officer for the Engineering and Installation Squadron in Chicago, IL. Notable highlights include:
Oversaw the wings fuel section in Phoenix, receiving an average of 400,000 gallons of JP8 jet fuel per month while
completing more than 100 deliveries during the same time frame.
Implemented and operated the only R-14 Fuel Bladder System in the continental U.S.
Ensured mission readiness at each squadron assignment with upwards of 75 enlisted personnel.
Completed communications projects at CONUS locations in Germany, Italy, Europe, and Spain.
Installed, repaired, and certified Ground Navigation Aids systems and Meteorological/Communications systems.
Received the Air Force Achievement Medal and Meritorious Service Medal as well as the Major General Donald
Junior Officer Award for Excellence.
