Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection

Teenage Dream - 8
I learned what punchline meant thanks to this song. Maybe a bit simple lyrical-wise, but
good nonetheless. The song Katy should be remembered by.
I'mma get your heart racing, In my skin-tight jeans is great.

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) - 0

Not a fan of feel-good songs, so this one is super annoying to me.
The damn is a fun addition, but the rest of the song is meh. The whole song is just one big
eye-roll for me, especially the chanting near the end.
No thanks.

California Girls 2.5

Rather repetitive and Snoop doesnt really help the song. Oooh ooh ooooh.

Firework 6
I used to think this song was like super inspirational, but its pretty shallow now tbh :(
It seems kind of cheesy, like something youd hear on the Eurovision contest? The bridge
makes up for the rest of the song, though.

Peacock 7.5
The chorus is great, and the song is just pure fun. Just like in Firework, the bridge is very
good. Such a sight to see is sung in an interesting way.
Pretty good for a penis song.

Circle the Drain 9.5

I like the more darker, punk Katy, so this is one of my favorites of the album. The chorus is
so fucking good.
Wanna be your lover, not your fucking mother is rather impactful and I remember young
me thinking she was so badass for saying fuck in a song.
The whispered chorus near the ending serves as a perfect ending, tbh.

The One That Got Away 6.5

I think a lot of people can relate to the lyrics of the song, me included. One of the more
intimate songs on the album, which is welcoming after TGIF and California Girls.
The monotone beat kind of takes me out of the song, but I like how it stops momentarily,
right before the chorus.
The bridge, however, does nothing for me.
How was it? It was fine.

E.T. 8
Some of the pronunciation in the first verse was always kind of off to me, but okay. The
chorus is SO GOOD. The bridge is kind of unexpected, and maybe not fit for this song? I
dont know.
It does get repetitive after the first chorus, as do most of Katys songs, but I can just keep
listening to the chorus and be happy tbh.

Who Am I Living For? 5.5

The lyrical content is definitely interesting due to her religious background. The chorus goes
in strong, maybe a bit too much shout-y. Unfortunately the rest of the song isnt as strong.

Pearl 7
Well, the sort-of-feminism topic is definitely welcome. The way Katy kind of trails off with
the She was a hurricane is very hypnotic.
I love love love the way the chorus connects to the bridge.

Hummingbird Heartbeat 4
The beat definitely fits the fast-paced and upbeat nature of the song and the lyrics, so thats
nice. The bridge doesnt really feel right for this song.
Nothing special and rather forgettable, tbh.

Not Like The Movies 6

Its definitely a cute song. Feels kind of pedestrian? Definitely not a song Id link to Katy.
The solemn tone is a welcome addition after HH, and the background chanting before the
2nd chorus is v. nice. The final chorus is also a fitting ending for the song.

The One That Got Away (Acoustic) 7

Somewhat better than the studio version, imo. The slight tremble in her voice really fits the
song. The no-o-o, whoo-o-o near the end is tragic, though.

Part of Me 4.5
A classical Katy song, tbh. A lot of this and that, which Im not a fan of.
I just wanna throw my phone away, Find out who is really there for me is such a hilarious
line, like its not that serious Katy.
I can appreciate it for what its supposed to be, but its rather cheesy and Im sorry.

Wide Awake 3
The chorus annoys me, and it just feels over the place. The repetition of Im wide awake is
also meh. KATY IS WOKE.
A very big meh of a song, in any case.

Dressin Up 10
Legit thought this was an unreleased song, didnt know it was on an album. Anyway, I love
the fast paced nature of the song, and the lyrics are interesting, Ill give it that.
The chorus is such a BANGER, and just boosts the song up by so much? Im not even into
sexual roleplaying, but this song sure makes me want to.
TONIGHT IM GONNA COME ALIVE.

E.T. (Remix) 2
Oh boy. Well. The remix is definitely worse than the original. Maybe it's because yo boy
Yeezy get ass a lot?
Kanye doesnt really add anything to the song, and his verses feel SO out of place.
Luckily, the chorus is the same as the original, which saves this song from a 0, tbh.

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) [Remix] 4

Literally had no idea this existed. Missys lyrics actually made me laugh, and they definitely
fit the nature of the song. A lot more tolerable than the original, which is surprising.
Unlike the E.T. remix, this one improved upon the original. However, the chanting part is still
annoying, and not even Missy can fix that mess. :(

The Fame Monster

Bad Romance 7
Most iconic of all Gaga songs, by far, and definitely one she should be remembered by.
Who doesnt know the Roma Roma-ma, Gaga, "Oh la-la part? Its iconic.
The chorus is great, but the rest of the song isnt as strong? The bridge is definitely
interesting, and I love how desperate (for a lack of a better word) she sounds near the
ending.
Not GOAT, but solid nonetheless.

Alejandro 5
Hot like Mexico, rejoice? Yikes.
Chorus is decent, but the majority of the song doesnt really do anything for me, and would
likely be forgettable if it wasnt a single.
The repetitiveness of Alejandro kind of tires me near the end.

Monster 8.5
Iconic. I remember having this song on repeat for SO long.
The lyrics and the way she sings them are memorable, and fit the song really well, and I
appreciate the metaphor.
Good bridge.

Speechless 4
Im generally indifferent about Gagas ballads.
Its just kind of boring? It feels like pre-fame Gaga, so its interesting to see it on this
album. The final chorus is unexpected, and maybe even too dynamic for this song?
I like the Some men may follow me, But you choose "death and company line, though.

Dance In The Dark 10

Off-topic, but I love the cover art. Its literally my favorite of hers.
This song, along with Monster is one of those songs you can just replay a billion times and
theyll sound just as good as they did the first time you heard it.
I love the echoing, the stuttering, the name-dropping, its fantastic through and through.

Telephone 9
Love the breaking up effect at the breaking up line. Very clever.
The fast-paced post-chorus is great, and fits the song nicely. Beyonc definitely improves
the song, esp. at the part where they both sing the chorus. An experience.

So Happy I Could Die 4

I touch myself, can't get enough, I touch myself and it's alright is a very memorable line.
The chorus is cute, but the song just feels kind of off. The repetition of the ehs and ye-has
kinda annoys me, and the other verses dont do much to make up for it. A drag of a song.

Teeth 6
The song definitely feels unnerving and disturbing, which is fitting for its lyrical content.
I generally like combining spoken words with a songs lyrics, but Im not sure how well it
works here. It comes across as annoying, imo.
However, the teeth-teeth-teeth-teeth at the end of the chorus is pretty great.

Just Dance 8.5

RedOne. Konvict. Gaga. Oh man, the nostalgia.
This song was the shit in 2008/09, and deservingly so. This is just pure, honest, feel-good
pop, and it works for her. It also works for me.
Great song, even if I never understood what the hell shes saying in the bridge.

LoveGame 7.5

Great beat.
Got my ass squeezed by sexy Cupid is iconic for all the right reasons.
A bit of a downgrade after Just Dance, but still a very good track.

Paparazzi 10
I love the way she sings Need that picture of you-u.
The chorus is really fucking strong, and maybe one of the best on the whole album. The
bridge is a bit ehh, but everything else is amazing, that it doesnt even matter.
The almost-acoustic chorus near the end is really fucking amazing and such a fitting ending
to an amazing song.

Poker Face 6.5

The intro is definitely iconic.
The rapping part is awkward, but the chorus and the rest of the song make up for it.

Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) 3.5

CHERRY CHERRY BOOM BOOM.
A bit more sweet than Im accustomed to with Gaga. Repetitive, rather boring, and too
many ehhs for my taste. Kudos for being something entirely different on the album,
though.

Beautiful Dirty Rich 6.5

Dirty indeed.
The chorus is catchy, the beat is fitting and even the background repetitiveness isnt
annoying. A solid track, but forgettable when compared to other, stronger tracks on the
album.

The Fame 7

The pre-chorus and the chorus are SO CATCHY.

I like the sort-of-robotic chorus with its fame fame baby. The bridge is also solid, the track
kind of drops down in catchiness near the end, but good nonetheless.

Money Honey 4
The chorus is definitely stronger than any of the other verses, which isnt that good,
because its kind of a forgettable song :(
I legit forgot it was on the album, and it feels like a sad mix of BDR+LoveGame, but not as
good as either of those.

Starstruck 3
Literally the first Gaga song I ever heard, and I wasnt that impressed. I dig the 2008-09
pop aspect of it, but its nothing special. Her voice is overly processed and it doesnt fit in
with most of the other tracks on TFM.
I wont comment on the Flo Rida part.

Boys Boys Boys 6

The chorus is so cute and weirdly nostalgic? Im not a fan of how the verses sort of blend
together into the same beat, and lyric-wise its nothing special.
The chorus is fantastic for a repetitive song, so theres that.

Paper Gangsta 6.5

Very catchy. I like the fast-paced-cant-catch-my-breath nature of the song.
The beat is nice, lyrics arent bad. Solidly average, in any case.

Brown Eyes 2.5

Another ballad. Kind of tiring, in a is-it-over-yet way. Everything, was everything

I Like It Rough 5.5

An okay song. The bridge is quite interesting, and makes the song stand out some.

Summerboy 3
Just boring. Sounds like a failed demo of Eh, Eh. I like the fast pacing in the chorus, but
other than that, its a big meh.

Animal + Cannibal
Your Love Is My Drug 9
Rocking the party girl image, a strong song thats somewhat representative of her album.
The beat is catchy, I like the beat at the Hitting my head against the wall line.
The chorus is just pure pop fun, and so is the song; the bridge and the breakdown are
BRILLIANT.

TiK ToK 5
Iconic, at least. First Kesha song I heard, and not really a fan of it, but I appreciate it for
what it is a party girl anthem.
The bridge is pretty cute.

Take It Off 10
Sounds like a darker mix of the previous two tracks, which is great. The chorus is
surprisingly lightweight, but its justified because the rest of the song is strong enough to
stand on its own.
Lyrically, its a classic Kesha song I love her impactful execution of the Lose your mind,
lose it now, Lose your clothes in the crowd lines.
As much as I hated the chanting in TGIF, it works in this case, and even improves the song.
A strong track.

Kiss N Tell 9
Keshas diss tracks are phenomenal, and this is no exception. The continuous catchy beat,
the whooohs are great, the pre-chorus in general is just perfection.

The condemnation in her voice at the You really shoulda kept it in your pants, I'm hearing
dirty stories from your friends verse is just brilliant.
An undeniably catchy track.

Stephen 5.5
Steeeeeeeephen.
Maybe a bit too upbeat for my taste, the lyrics tell a story though, which is nice.
The breakdown is great, but the rest of the song is kind of meh :(

Blah Blah Blah 6

Right off the bat the song goes into a strong chorus, which is neat. The sassiness and
straightforwardness is very fitting for Kesha.
3OH!3 kind of ruins it, but its a good song, albeit a bit repetitive.
Is that a drill sound near the end?

Hungover 8.5
I generally love Keshas ballad-like songs, and this one is pretty great.
The song feels like a hungover, and the lyrics kind of resonate with me, even when sober.
The comparison between her heart and the bottles is brilliant.

Party At A Rich Dude's House 5

Woooooooah.
A fun party anthem, nothing too memorable.

Backstabber 7.5
Great diss track. The chorus is really impactful, even Im offended.
The everybody knows it part is really catchy. Kind of fizzles out near the end, as is not
strong as Kiss N Tell, but an alright track.

Blind 9
One of my favorite emotional songs from Kesha, ever. The passion in her voice, the beat,
everything is just so fitting.
I love the way the beat actually stops at the relevant verse.
Whos all alone now?

Dinosaur 4
Its a cute song, but not GOAT or anything. The spelling is clever, and the lyrics are funny.
The dinosaur noises are a nice touch.

Dancing With Tears In My Eyes 9

Feels similar to Blind, which is definitely not a bad thing. I remember crying to thing song
when I was like 13-14, so thats fun.
Has a stronger chorus than Blind. Bonus points for putting zombie in an emotional song
and making it work.

Boots & Boys 4.5

Odd beat. Feels somewhat country?? I love the ooh at the look what I found part.
Not that memorable of a song, but okay nonetheless.

Animal 8
A great track. Slightly weaker than DWTIME and Blind. The first two lines of the song are
fantastic. The transition from slow>fast pace is awesome.
The delivery of the I am alive line is lovely.

Cannibal 8
One of the best examples of Keshas quick and witty delivery. The Dahmer line is kind of
awkward, but the rest of the track is great.

The chorus is super-unexpected, and the Ill eat you up line is neat.
Good song.

We R Who We R 6
An okay song. The DJ turn it up near the end kind of ruins it for me, but its not too bad.
Maybe a bit generic for Kesha.

Sleazy 7
The song goes in HARD. The rapping part is awesome. Sorry daddy, but Im not that easy.

Blow 7.5
This song gets better as it goes on, the ending is really great. The shouting part near the
end is also pretty awesome. A solid track.

The Harold Song 11

My favorite sad song from Kesha. Its so damn relatable, the delivery is amazing.
They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me makes me ugly cry.
The song tells a story, one that a lot of people are familiar with, and I think thats why I like
it so much, especially when Im feeling moody.
The final bridge feels so heavy and just sad.
A beautiful time.
GOAT.

Crazy Beautiful Life 6

A Kesha classic, nothing too amazing.

Grow A Pear 3
Ignoring the problematic lyrics, its a catchy song. The lyrics are ugh, though, which drags
the song down by a lot.
I like the fast pace.

C U Next Tuesday 5.5

Digging the If You Seek Amy wordplay.
A catchy song, maybe not too memorable but its decent.
