The Columbus Division of Police will celebrate its 200th anniversary tomorrow, September 29, 2016 at the Chief James G. Jackson Police Academy from 9am to 3pm. The celebration will begin with an opening ceremony featuring a video looking back at the Division's history and a memorial dedication to fallen officers. Throughout the day, various events will be held including demonstrations by the underwater search and recovery, bike, mounted, and K9 units as well as presentations on hostage negotiations and recruiting training. The bicentennial celebration is a family-friendly event open to the public.

Columbus Division of Police: Bicentennial Celebration
The Columbus Division of Police will be celebrating its bicentennial tomorrow, Thursday September 29, 2016, at the Chief James G. Jackson Police Academy located at 1000 North Hague Avenue from 9am until 3pm. The celebration begins with the opening ceremony at 9am in the auditorium. Part of the opening ceremony includes a video that looks back on the Divisions 200 years and a memorial dedication to our fallen officers. Many events will be held throughout the day including an underwater search & recovery demonstration, history of hostage negotiations, bike unit obstacle course and history of recruiting training presentation. CPDs Mounted & K9 Units will be on hand as well.
