The Comments of IEEE-T-ITS-14-5-0337

(1) This draft discusses the survey of fuzzy control for the topic intelligent traffic control.
(2) Table 1 with the total number of 17 papers is not new survey or not appropriate. e.g., (a)
published year during 1977~2011, (b) 6 conference papers, 2 PhD thesis, (c) only one IEEE
Transactions in 1977.
(3) From the data base of IEL (IEEE/IET Electronic Library), the key word intelligent traffic light
control can find many journal papers and conference papers. It indicates that the above survey
is not enough and not representative for the corresponding topic.

(5) For a better performance of ITS, the following topics (i.e., WSN, CCTV Camera, and GPS) are
mentioned or discussed. However, these approaches are discussed by many studies. The details
of these descriptions seem not enough.
(6) Based on the above surveys, the ITLC can have different approaches, e.g., fuzzy control, neural
network adaptive control, Petri net. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
However, the authors do not discuss them.
Based on the above comments, this survey paper for ITLS does not have novel concept. In
addition, the fuzzy control for theses control systems are also developed by some papers. In
addition, different approaches (e.g., Petri net) for ITLS are attractive. Therefore, this paper is not
suggested to be published on IEEE T-ITS.
