    IampleasedtorecommendSukkrivaaVijayanfromRafflesInstitution,Singapore.Hehasbeen
    inmyteamsinceNovember2014.Despitebeinginhisteensandbeingtheyoungest
    researcherattheCenterforQuantumTechnologies,Sukkrivaademonstratedgreatskilland
    aptitudeinthefieldsofquantumelectronicsandsuperconductivityinartificialDNA.Thisproject
    wasoriginallyofferedtostudentswhohavegraduatedfromtoppreuniversityinstitutionsacross
    Singapore.However,despitebeingonlysixteenandbeingthreeyearsawayfromgraduation,
    Sukkrivaa,byvirtueofbeingonethebestinadvancedmathematicsinRafflesInstitutionwas
    selectedaswell.Intotal,includingSukkrivaa,sevenwereselectedinthecountry.

    Thus,hewasoriginallycontractedtobeinchargeoftheintensivepostgraduatelevel
    mathematicsneededfortheprojectwhiletheotherswereinchargeofthecomputingand
    physicssectionsoftheproject.However,withthedepartureofamemberinchargeof
    computing,majorchangestookplace.Fromthispointonwards,alltheresearchersselected
    workedontheirownprojectsduetomanpowercomplications.Thus,Sukkrivaa,despitebeing
    selectedmainlyforhismathematicsability,hadtohandlethephysicsandcomputingsectionsof
    hisprojectaswell.

    ItwasherethatSukkrivaashowedamazingabilityanddedication.Heoftenturneduphoursin
    advancetoourallocatedmeetingtimessoastoaskquestionsortojustworkoutproblemsat
    theside.Hewouldreadgraduateleveltextbooksinadvanceshowingahugelevelof
    commitmentforsomeonewhowasstillschoolingandtakingexaminationswhileconcurrently
    takingpartinsportingchampionships.

    Sukkrivaawasnevershyofaskingforhelp.Hewouldemailmequestionsandproblemsfrom
    veryadvancedtextsusuallyusedbyphysicistsduringgraduateorpostgraduatestudies.One
    admirablethingaboutSukkrivaaisthathenevershirkedawayfromthechallenge.Hefacedit
    andgaveithisall.Heisclearabouthisgoalsinlifeandismotivatedbeyondmeasure.Heis
    deeplyinterestedinthesubjectmatter.Describinghimasobsessedwouldnotbemuchofa
    stretch.

    Heiswillingtostepoutofhiscomfortzoneandchallengehimself.Herelishesthechallenge.He
    enjoystheworkinvolved.Whilemostpeopleseeworkandstudyasa95thingandswitchoff
    afterthat,Sukkrivaajustcannotstopthinkingaboutthesesubjectsbecausehelovesthe
    intellectualstimulation.TheseparationbetweenworkandleisuredoesnotexistforSukkrivaain
    thesesubjects.

    Sukkrivaaissomeonewhoalwaystakestheextrastep.Hewillemergefromthisresearch
    projectassomeonewhoisadeptbeyondhisyearsinthefieldsofphysics,mathematicsand
    computing.Buthewillnotstopthere.
