debatethattakeplaceduringaModelUNsimulation.Beingfamiliarwith
howtheactionwillproceed,fromthefirst"scene"tothelast,isan
importantwaytoprepareyourselfforaModelUNconference.

WhenModelUNcommitteeshavemorethanonetopicavailable,thebody
mustsettheagendatobeginworkingononeoftheseissues.Atthistimea
delegatetypicallymakesamotion,stating"Thecountryof[name]movesto
place[topicA]firstontheagenda,followedby[topicB]andthen[topic
C]."Oncethemotionhasbeenmade,threedelegationsmustspeakinfavor
ofthemotion,andthreeotherdelegationswillspeakagainstit.These
speechesshouldalternatebetweenthoseinfavorandthoseopposed.Once
thesesixspeecheshavebeengiven,avoteistaken.Settingtheagenda
requiresasimplemajorityvote.

aroundaspeakerslist.TheChairbegins involvesdiscussionoutsideofthe

maymakeamotiontoproceedintovotingprocedurebymovingforthe
closureofdebate.

Voting Procedures
Onceamotiontoclosedebatehasbeenapproved,thecommitteemoves
intovotingprocedure.Amendmentsarevotedonfirst,thenresolutions.
Oncealloftheresolutionsarevotedon,thecommitteemovestothenext
topicontheagenda.
