They are ENGAGED!

Sheryl+Martin Partnership has ocially confirmed their
engagement after a somewhat awkward proposal.

Amidst the glitz and glamour that is often expected of

marriage proposals, Sheryl+Martin Partnership (S+M) has
opted for a humorous approach, which has long been a
hallmark of the relationship.

At 3pm today, the partners of S+M ocially renewed their

relationship agreement within the privacy of Studio M hotel.
The long-anticipated renewal process was attended by
both Sheryl and Martin and even camera crews were
denied entry.

It allows us to be ourselves and act naturally, Martin said,

adding that I also feel that its important for us to enjoy our
special moment without feeling the pressure of public
expectations.

Considering the outcome, the gift of privacy was truly a

blessing.

Allowing Martin free rein over a surprise naturally resulted in

a proposal that turned out to be less breathtaking than it
ought to be.

The setting is completely missing, Sheryl groaned, before

adding, this was not what Ive dreamt about.

Martin was said to have dismissed Sheryls comments by

claiming that he only focuses on what hes good at and
that he does it really well.

Trouble started brewing early in the day just as the partners

alighted from bus 143 when Sheryl stumbled over and hurt
her knee. You never even help me up, she exclaimed in
frustration.

Sheryl angst was further fanned over the long walk to

Studio M in the blistering heat. When Martin asked if he
could make a few stopovers, she reportedly reminded him
that they should have been on a cab, as per her earlier
suggestion, and warned him against irritating her further.

Upon arrival at Studio M, Martinand later on, Sherylhad

to contend with missed expectations as the hotel setting
proved to be less romantic than the pictures he found
online.

one turned out to be a cacophony of mistakes and

prepared Dominos pizza and began wondering aloud if
there should be music for ambience.

Fortunately, Martin still had an ace in his hands as he

whipped out a deck of cards with intimate answers-toquestions that the couple had written 3 years ago.

The high point finally came when Martin awkwardly

stuttered through a poorly prepared speech that somehow
managed to convince Sheryl to agree to the proposal.

There was no kneeling, no perfect speech or beautiful

ambience, but Martin successfully persuaded Sheryl to
agree to an upgrade to what she called the most perfect
relationship she knows of.

This is my happiest moment and I dont really feel like

moving away, Martin mumbled as he celebrated his victory
with a hug from Sheryl Thong.

But todays proposal was only part of a prolonged attempt

to convince Sheryl to agree to the partnership restructuring.

On 29 September, Martin had reportedly delivered a 5-page

write-up titled Proposal for a Redefinition of Sheryl+Martin
Limited Liability Partnership to Sheryls oce.

When queried about the need for secrecy since Sheryl

already knew, Martin maintained that the element of
surprise remains an important ritual in all proposals.

proposal ring.

S+M Partnership has been a going concern for almost a

decade and celebrated its seventh anniversary on Thursday
with a McDonalds lunch. There has been much public
speculation as to when the partners might finally decide to
take S+M one step further.

According to sources, both partners have already made a

failed attempt to acquire a HDB Build-to-Order unit and
may have already applied a second time.

A recently released performance review of the company

revealed that Happiness on Investment is on a bullish streak
and the partners are catalysing on this opportunity to
undertake a restructuring program to enhance potential.

News of S+M restructuring has led analysts to believe that

a public listing at the Registry of Marriages is currently on
the cards.

I wouldnt be surprised if the partners decide to get

married within the next 3 to 5 years, said marriage expert
Sullivan, and this would be more likely if the rumoured
second BTO application turns out to be a success.
