COHIBA
This is the flagship brand of Habanos and rapidly achieved mythical status since
its creation in 1966 for none other than Fidel Castro himself. Originally it was
only seen outside Cuba as gifts for important dignitaries and diplomats. Finally
in 1982 it was launched to the world in limited quantities. When Columbus first
arrived he saw the native Taino Indians smoking tobacco leaves in bunches that
they referred to as "cohibas", hence the name.

MONTECRISTO
The Menendez and Garcia families founded the Montecristo brand in 1935 and
since then it has gone on to become the best known and probably most widely
appreciated brand. Allegedly it was the torcedores in the factory who chose the
name after being read Alexandre Dumas' famous novel "The Count of Monte
Cristo".

Don Jaime Partagas created the Partagas brand in 1845 and the factory he then
opened at No. 520 Industria Street in the centre of Havana is still making the
cigars today. It is now perhaps the most famous factory in the city and is visited
by many tourists each year.

came to prominence during the 20th century and was famously smoked by Sir
Winston Churchill, whose name is commemorated on a band and is also used to
describe the brand's most famous size, the Churchill.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it;
everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts.
They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace.
