SETTING GUIDE
LITERATURE OPTION 1: PORTRAIT
For portrait literature design the fdf logo should have a clearing
space of 20% at all times.
X

The widest point of the flag X at the top of the page should
always be 37% of the width of the page. For example an A4 page
is 210mm wide, 37% of this is 78mm as per the example on the
left hand side.
The widest point of the flag Z at the bottom of the page should
always be 19% of the width of the page. For example an A4 page
is 210mm wide, 19% of this is 40mm as per the example on the
left hand side.
The title area of the document should be always written in 36pt
DIN Bold and sit 8mm from the bottom and 8mm from the left
hand side of the page.
The orange area of this example shows the area which is free for
the designer to be flexible with, all artwork will need to be signed
off by the Director of Communications at fdf.
When producing marketing materials the flag may appear in
white or any colour from the primary or secondary colour palette.
The chosen colour must however stand out from the main image
or section of the material so that there is an obvious contrast and
distinction between the flag and the image.
When choosing colourways for the flags guidance must be
sought from 0.3.2 Logo Variations (page 6) to ensure that the
correct logo variation is used.
A key line should never be applied to the flag and no imagery or
design should intrude into the flag.
