SR yflt \ es ANG ry a Republic of the Philippines Professional Requlation Commission Manila 2 < PROFESSIONAL REGULATORY BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY Resolution No. Series of 2016 PRESCRIBING REVISED APPLICATION FORMS, DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS, AND NEW FEES FOR THE ACCREDITATION OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS (CPAs) IN: a) PUBLIC PRACTICE (FIRMS AND INDIVIDUAL PARTNER AND STAFF MEMBER) b) EDUCATION PRACTICE (ACCOUNTING TEACHER) AND c) COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY PRACTICE WHEREAS, Section 9 (a) Article I of Republic Act No. 9298, otherwise known as Philippine Accountancy Act of 2004, mandates the Professional Regulatory Board of ‘Accountancy (Board) to supervise the registration, licensure and the practice of accountancy in the Philippines; WHEREAS, Sections 28 and 31 of the same law and Annex B of Resolution No. 2004- 71 or the Rules and Regulations of R. A. No. 9298 provide for the requirements and procedures in the accreditation of individual Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Firms and Partnerships of CPAs engaged in the practice of public accountancy; WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2015-295 requires all CPAs in public practice, including the individual partners and CPA staff members in accounting firms/partnerships, to apply for accreditation with the Board and the Commission; WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2008-88 prescribes the rules and regulations in the accreditation of accounting teachers by the Board and the Commission. The same Resolution likewise states that any tenured/full time/full load faculty member who does not meet the accreditation requirements provided thereunder may be issued a Provisional Accreditation which shall be valid for a period not exceeding three (3) years unless earlier withdrawn, revoked or cancelled; WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2016-01 imposes a moratorium on the implementation of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement for the accreditation of accounting teachers until July 31, 2016; WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2016-03 sets forth the rules and regulations on the submission of the Certificate of Compilation Services on the preparation of Financial Statements and Notes thereto; WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2016-06 prescribes the application forms and corresponding lists of requirements for accreditation of CPAs in public practice, in education practice and commerce and industry practice; WHEREAS, there is a need to introduce modifications/adjustments in the application forms, documentary requirements and fees in order to effectively implement the above stated Resolutions. NOW THEREFORE, the Board has RESOLVED, as it so RESOLVES, to prescribe revised application forms, documentary requirements and new fees for the accreditation of CPAs in public practice (firms and individual partner and staff member), education practice (accounting teacher) and commerce and industry practice. a nyar® > S P PAREDES ST, CORNER N. Section 1. Accreditation of Individual CPA or Firm or Partnership of CPAs in the Practice of Public Accountancy. All applicants for accreditation as Individual CPA or Firm or Partnership of CPAs in the practice of public accountancy shall accomplish the prescribed Application Form (Annex “A") and submit all the documentary requirements listed therein The accreditation fee for Individual CPA is One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P1,500.00). While the accreditation fee for Firm or Partnership of CPAs is two thousand pesos (P2,000.00). Section 2. Accreditation of Individual Partner and Staff Member of Firms or Partnerships of CPAs in the Practice of Public Accountancy.- All applicants for accreditation as individual partner and staff member of Firms or Partnerships of CPAs in the practice of public accountancy shall accomplish the prescribed Application Form (Annex “B") and submit all the documentary requirements listed therein. The accreditation fee of individual partner is One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (1,500.00) and the accreditation fee of each staff member is Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00). Section 3. Accreditation as Accounting Teacher. — All applicants for accreditation in education practice as accounting teacher shall accomplish the Application Form (Annex “C”) and submit all the documentary requirements listed therein. The accreditation fee for accounting teacher is One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (1,500.00) Further, the Board shall no longer issue Provisional Accreditation Section 4. Accreditation in Commerce and Industry Practice. — All applicants for accreditation in commerce and industry practice shall accomplish the Application Form (Annex “D") and submit all the documentary requirements listed therein The accreditation fee in commerce and industry practice is One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P1,500.00). Section 5. Validity of the Certificate of Accreditation. - The Certificate of Accreditation is valid for three (3) years, subject to renewal, upon compliance with the documentary requirements. This Resolution, together with its Annexes, shall take effect immediately after its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation in the country. Copies hereof shall be furnished the Board, Office of the Board Secretary, Standards and Inspection Division, all Regional Offices and other involved offices/divisions/units of the Commission for information and guidance.
