This document contains summaries of three studies:
1) The first study analyzed the antibacterial activity of extracts from mangrove leaves (Avicennia marina) from two locations in Indonesia on Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio alginolyticus bacteria. The extracts contained compounds like alkaloids and flavonoids and inhibited the growth of both bacteria.
2) The second study examined how ecological factors influence the distribution of ice-ice disease infections on Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed. The infection was observed to start early and be affected by ecological conditions.
3) The third study investigated how epiphyte contamination impacts the growth of K. alvarezii in Sumen

ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY ANALYSIS OF MANGROVE LEAF Avicennia marina EXTRACT
FROM DISTRICT PASURUAN AND TRENGGALEK ON THE GROWTH OF Staphylococcus
aureus AND Vibrio alginolyticus Ridha Handriany Danada , Ade Yamindago Avicennia marina can adapting to the tides habitat and they have varying salinity tolerance. That adaptation has the potential to affect the composition of secondary metabolites of A. marina . This study aimed to determine the composition of bioactive compounds contained in extracts of A. marina leaves from Trenggalek and Pasuruan. Its to determine the antibacterial activity of A. marina extracts to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio alginolyticus . The test results of phytochemical showed alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins content in the A. marina extracts . However, the compound Terpenoids and Tannins are found only at stations with certain conditions. The test results of antibacterial activity of A. marina extracts from Trenggalek and Pasuruan showed clear zone diameter of 4.43 to 5.79 mm and 4.25 to 5.48 mm. The extract of A. marina leaf can inhibit the growth of bacteria S. aureus and V. alginolyticus. The differences of habitat does not significant influence on the ability of inhibition. This research aimed to determine changes of morphology and distribution of ice-ice disease infection on Kappaphycus alvarezii. The study was conducted using the method of cultivation in the floating raft and that observed every 15 days. The results showed that the infection seen on early planting and influenced by ecological factors . Keywords : ice-ice , distribution , Kappaphycus alvarezii THE GROWTH OF CONTAMINATED Kappaphycus alvarezii OF EPIPHYTES IN SUMENEP WATERS Apri Arisandi , Akhmad Farid , Sri Rokhmaniati Increased temperatures are relatively high on dry season led to increased disease and epiphytes contamination in Sumenep waters, it so that affecting the average daily gain of Kappaphycus alvarezii. This research aims to determine the impact of epiphytic contamination , to the growth of K. alvarezii in Sumenep waters. The research was conducted using the method of cultivation in a floating raft, K. alvarezii thallus was contaminated of epiphytes to observed and calculated. The results showed that epiphytic contamination could average daily gain of K. alvarezii declined by -0.07 % to 0.92 % , therefore K. Alvarezii should be harvested immediately.
