EQ: How does the theory of evolution support the idea that all organisms developed from
a common ancestor?

What is the definition of

Evolution?

the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have
developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.

How do you determine

the level of fitness and
animal has?

You see how fit an animal is by their ability to reproduce and survive.

What are the 4 types of

natural selection and
what are their
definitions?

Normal: Original Population

Directional: When individuals at one end have better fitness than the rest
Disruptive: When individuals at upper and lower ends have higher fitness than
individuals near the center
Stabilizing: When individuals near the center of the curve have higher fitness than
individuals at either end of the curve

What are 7 pieces of

evidence of evolution?

-Fossils
-Genetics
-Geographical Distribution
-Comparative Anatomy
-Embryology
-Homology
-Vestigial Organs

Who was the first person Charles Darwin came up with it in 1858
to come up with the
theory of Evolution?

Summary: Evolution is the process where living organisms develop to become more fit in their
environment. The first person to come up with the theory of evolution was Charles Darwin and he was
pretty accurate. He came up with 7 pieces of proof for evolution which are fossils, genetics, geographical
distribution, comparative anatomy, embryology, homology, and vestigial organs. There are also 4 types of
natural selection which are normal, directional, disruptive, and stabilizing.
