Q.1 Derive the equation of Lami's Theorem.

OR
prove with usual notation T1/T2=
for friction belt.
Q.2 If resultant of system of forces as shown in fig 1, is towards X-axis with magnitude of F1 & F2
OR
Determine resultant of the force system as shown in fig 2, the sides of each small square is 1 m.
The overall size of body is 6 m by 4 m
Q.3 A cylindrical drum of 250mm diameter and 600 N weight is to be lifted from the ground
manually against a kerb of 90mm height as shown in fig.3By applying tangential force at top.
Calculate the minimum horizontal force P required.
OR
A screw jack is used to lift a load 3KN. The screw is square threaded with 2 threads to 1.2 cm.
The coefficient of friction between screw and nut is 0.09. outer diameter of screw is 6cm.
Find 1) effort at the end of a handle of length 600 mm to lift the given load.2) Efficiency of
screw.
Q.4 A 8 m long ladder rests against a vertical wall with which it makes an angle of 45*. if a man
whose weight is one half of that ladder, climbs it. At what distance along the ladder will be the
man when the ladder is about to slip? As shown in fig. 4 takes
OR
Two blocks of weights 1500N and 1000N and connected by a string passing over a frictionless
pully rest on rough surfaces as shown in fig.5. determine the least value of force P, both in
magnitude and direction for the motion to impend. Takes =0.2 at all surfaces.
Q.5 Draw Shear force and Bending moment Diagram for beam as shown in fig. 6
also find point of Contraflexure at C
Q.6 Calculate reactions at supports due to applied loads on the beam as shown in figure 7.
