Australian Curriculum Learning Area: Arts


Year level: Grade 1
Lesson Title: Drama
Learning Outcomes:
The learning outcomes of this lesson are:
- For students to develop and apply creative and critical thinking to a drama activity
Success Criteria:
Were students actively engaged in the warm-up activity? Did students engage in conversation
and freely express ideas during the main activity? Did all groups complete their drama and
expression activity in the allotted time?

1. Introduce the lesson by explaining that todays Tounge Twisters

3. Once the warm up activity is completed, ask Photo Scenarios (Whole Class)

students to sit in a circle and conduct the
Tongue Twister activity:
-The Tongue Twister activity is where students
simply attempt to mimic the tongue twisters:
Irish Wrist Watch; Red Leather Yellow Leather;
Toy Boat Toy Boat; Red Blood Bad Blood.
4. Students are to be organised into their groups
again to complete the Real Life Picture activity:
-The Real Life Picture activity is where students
have to recreate a picture that they are given

and create it using only themselves and any


props they can find in the classroom. They then
present these stills and the audience has to
guess what the picture is of. This activity can be
repeated twice.
5. Once the students are settled back into the
classroom, explain that we will do a whole class
Picture recreation.
6. Give feedback on students and highlight the
positive aspects.
7. Thank students for their time and transition
them to the next class.
