Review of Unfriended
Unfriended is one of latest horror movie that was initially released on April 17, 2015. It is
a supernatural horror movie about social media and cyberbullying, which happens completely
online, in fact more or less completely on one computer screen. Initially, the six girls involved in
this movie think it is joke, but later they came to realize that they are dealing with something out
of this world, something that wants them lifeless. This movie commits to its notion and
continually finds new means to illustrate it, creating the tension as every character reveals his or
her own dark revelations, hence moderating the vicious disputes visited upon them.
Superficially, this is a horror movie; even though its difference comes due to lack of
significant elements such as intensifying suspense and sincere scares that forces audience to
think otherwise. This movie takes place in real time and in which everything we view is limited
to whatever is on the screen of the major characters computer. As recommended before, the
movie is an effort to reconstruct the familiarity of an extensive stay in front of a computer screen.
Unfriended clearly showed its characters and their history behind the cyber bullying death in an
effective means that it is never overindulged. The exposure behind the characters is out of order
and even with the computer screen fronting the viewers, we have to pay close consideration to
recognize what is happening. However, up to the end, it is not clear how the movie was intending
to illustrate that cyber bullying is bad. In general, Unfriended is partly an exaggerated attempt to

scare people straight about cyber bullying, but as an alternative, the movie might just make
people connect bullying with a horror, deadly exertion that lacks any approval.
