Please keep practicing the ABCs and their sounds

Science & Social Studies:

We are talking about concepts of time (today,

yesterday, and tomorrow). This can be a tricky thing for kindergarteners! Use these words
when talking at home.

Reading Focus:

We are going to start practicing sight words next week! I have

attached our first list we are starting with. These are words that a student can look at and
knows automatically without having to read each sound. In school we will call them popcorn
words. We will start slow in the classroom but you can definitely practice them together at
home.

Writing:

We are working on being able to tell a story and how that is different than
describing something. Practice telling stories! We took turns being listeners and speakers this
week and talked about what a good listener looks like.

Math:

We are working on sorting items based on category, shape, size, or color. You can
practice writing numbers and counting at home too!

healthy snacks
by 9am on that morning. If for any reason you are unable to get
snack to school that morning, please let me know by the night
before so I can make alternate arrangements!

dismissal plans. We MUST put a child on the bus without a note or phone call
by noon saying otherwise.
