1) Rationale for Equipment Need & Budget:
This new equipment is intended to help our students to better meet standards set by the
state. The super flags can be used to divide students into teams for various sports. This product
was inexpensive per unit and were chosen over scrimmage vests because they can. The
resistance tubes will be implemented when teachers are covering physical fitness units. With
proper care and storage, these pieces should last some time. The new trunk flex testers will be
useful for state testing. Ten of these units are being requested to replace the outdated and
broken testers. The pedometers will help students in tracking there fitness, and will be a good
tool for teaching the many benefits of physical activity. Our department was in need of new
footballs, as there were not enough balls for all students to participate in football based
activities. These intermediate sized balls can be used by different age ranges, and will allow
more students to participate.

2) You received your budget for the year! BUT it covers only 85% of your request.
85% of $2300.36= $1955.31 Funds needed: $345.05
The board decided to meet 85% of our budgeting needs, accounting for $1,055.31 of a
total $23,00.36. We still need and addition $345.05 to meet our equipment needs. We will
use the boards funding to pay for specialty items like the flexibility testers and super flags.
The remaining equipment will be paid for through sponsorship and fundraising events. I
have already been in contact with a local sporting goods store who has agreed to sponsor
our program. The company is willing to send us funds and equipment if we agree to make
them our main sponsor. We will have to hang banners in our gymnasiums and have small
logos on team uniforms. The company has also agreed to help sponsor a walk-a-thon. Our
Cross country program will be helping to set up and administer the event, and the sporting
goods store will provide any equipment needed.
