ensureserviceprovidersfocusondeliveringinnovativeservicesanddrivingcontinuousservice
improvement.
AnotherchallengeassociatedwithhavingsomeaspectsofIToutsourced,andsomeinhouse,isthatitplaces
anewandincreasedloadonanorganizationsITfunctiontoprovideservicegovernance.
ItsimportantforanITfunctiontohaveaholisticviewacrossallbusinessservices,whetherthe
underpinningdeliveryofthoseservicescomesfromexternalproviders,internaldepartments,ora
combinationofboth.Oneofthethingsmostcommonlyoverlookedwhenoutsourcingaserviceishowthe
providerintegratesintotheotherpartsoftheITfunction.
AsservicegovernancebecomesanincreasinglyimportantfunctionoftheITdepartmentofthefuture,
organizationscantaffordtobehamperedbyaninconsistentanddisjointedviewofserviceoperations
obtainedfromoutsourcingtomultiplesuppliers.
Whenconsideringthosefunctionsthatanorganizationdecidesarenotprimecandidatesforoutsourcing,it
