Number POEMS!

Remember to read!
Did you know that children who have been read to
have thousands more dendrites than the average
child? That is to say, the brain is more fully developed
& vocabulary is at a higher level. Sowhat is the
moral of this story? KEEP READING! It is a simple way
to help your child bloom into an independent reader!

We sing the number poems when

practicing numbers at school. Help
your child by singing these poems
together at home when you practice
your numbers. The melody is SKIP TO
MY LOU. By singing the poems, it
helps the child remember the numbers
and how they are formed.

RHYME TIME
Have you been using your rhyme time cards? Figuring out rhyming

words together is fun! It is also AN IMPORTANT STEP IN HELPING

YOUR CHILD BECOME A READER! Try singing the song DOWN BY
THE BAY and put in rhyming words. HAVE FUN!
Read NURSERY RHYMES together. Can your child identify the

rhyming words?
