At the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Integrate their chemical engineering skills in the conceptual design of a chemical plant
2. Generate cost effective process options while maintaining operability and safety of the
design
3. Screen and evaluate the design alternatives
4. Incorporate heat integration concepts in the selected design alternative
5. Perform preliminary economic evaluation of the proposed process design
6. Employ effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills to effectively function
as a process engineer
Conceptual Process Design, Material and Energy Balance, Plant location, Process Flowsheeting
