GENERAL SERVICES ASSISTANT

GENERAL SERVICES ASSISTANT Purpose and Objective The General Services Assistant provides logistical, maintenance, and management support to post, working with the Administrative Officer (AO) and General Services Officer (GSO). Responsibilities Assists with scheduling and monitoring the vehicles and drivers for routine trips and perform as a back up driver if needed. Assists in coordinating special transportation and other logistic arrangements for receptions, seminars, conferences or Peace Corps sponsored projects. Assists with coordination of trainee/volunteer transportation to/from site, PST or other location. Collects and reviews mileage forms from vehicles and distribute the new ones to each driver every two weeks. Provides or coordinates general maintenance and repair of the Peace Corps office and staff residences. Coordinates the performance of custodial staff every day and provide written evaluation of performance every six months. Assists with the maintenance of an . accurate inventory of Peace Corps property including property located in the residences, at the office and training site and all property issued to PCVs. Assists GSO in monitoring and evaluating the service contracts for the operation of heating, electrical, and security systems. Organizes the fuel delivery with drivers to PCV sites with drivers according to the schedule provided by GSO. Ensures office fuel tanks are secure and the fire extinguishers are located properly every day. Monitors telephone communication equipment (cell phones, etc.). Assists the GSO and AO in Procuring general supplies for Peace Corps offices and Volunteers from local market. Assists GSO in case of activation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) or other emergencies.
Serves as Acting GSO, as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned by GSO and the AO.. Supervision Reports to the GSO and AO.. Level of Effort Performs duties during a 40 hour work week at a set work schedule as indicated in the contract. Events may require occasional work in the evenings and on weekends and holidays.
