1.
What is Capital Punishment?
Capital punishment is also known as
Death Punishment. Crimes that can
result in a death penalty are known as
Capital crimes or Capital offences.
Capital punishment is the execution of a
convicted

criminal

by

the

state

as

punishment for the most serious crimesknown as capital crimes.

It is usually only used as a punishment
for particularly serious types of murder,
but in some countries treason, types of
fraud, adultery and rape are capital
crimes.
The phrase capital punishment comes
from the Latin word for the head.
2.

According to me, Capital punishment is
unjust.
Arguments: 1. Humanity

3. Innocence

4. Cost
The death penalty is inhumane. Killing
people makes us so despise. It is not only
about what capital punishment does to
those killed, but also what it does to those
who do the killing and those in whose name
the killing is done.
The tide is turning against the death penalty.
Increasingly,

countries

and

states

are

banning the death penalty; drug companies

are refusing to allow their products to be
used for capital punishment.
Innocent people are on death row and
innocent people have been put to death.
These are irreversible tragedies. The death
penalty information centre strongly suspects
that ten prisoners who were put to death
were wrongly accused and killed.
The death penalty is quite expensive and
imprisonment can be cheaper. Over the
3

lifetime of a case, executing prisoners can

be three times as expensive as life in prison.
3.
Conclusion
Capital punishment is the worst violation of
human rights, because the right to life is the
most important and capital punishment
violates

it

without

necessity.

Capital

punishment is one of the controversial

topics because it totally depends on the
sect, individual belief and the ongoing time.
There is a certain right by which we
many deprive a man of life, but none
by which we may deprive him of death;
this is mere cruelty."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
