has enjoyed its glorious existence since inception, particularly excelling others in its teaching activities. The great personalities like: Sri I.
Ranganayakulu (Founder Principal of the College), and Sri K.V. Ramanaiah and Sri R V Narayana (the then principals of the College) belong to
the subject Mathematics. The Department produced eminent mathematicians like: Prof. Davuluri Ramakotaiah (Former Vice- Chancellor of
Acharya Nagarjuna University), Prof. Bhavanari Satyanarayana (Scientist Award-2009 from the Government of India; Selected Senior Scientist
by Hungarian Academy of Sciences-2005, Budapest), Head, Department of Mathematics, Acharya Nagarjuna University; Dr. B. Satyanarayana
(Former Co-ordinator, Dept of Mathematics, Acharya Nagarjuna University). The Dept. of Mathematics also organized a one-day International
Conference on 04-01-2006 in which Prof. Veldsman from Oman delivered his talk on Algebra.
About the Seminar:
The One-Day National Seminar on Recent Advances in Algebra and 205th Birth Anniversiry of Everest Galois is going to be organized by the
Department of Mathematics, S. S & N. College, in Collaboration with
1. Department of Mathematics, Acharya Nagarjuna University;
2. APSMS (AP Society for Mathematical Sciences); and
3. AIMEd. (Association of Improvement of Maths Education).
As the Date of Birth of Everest Galois is 25-10-1811, S. S & N. College, Narasaraopet, is Organizing a National Seminar on 23-10- 2016 as a
part of 205th Birth Day Celebrations of the great algebraist Galois.
