Since our tower has a hyperbolic shape, then we can have a hyperbola problem from our tower.

So our problem goes like this. Soaring over the West Bay district, Dohas Tornado Tower rises
high, overlooking the Bay and most of its high rise neighbors. The tower has 52 floors and has a
height of 200 meters. The length of the last floor is 55 meters. We assume that the middle floor is
at the origin. The middle floor has a length of 40 meters. Hence the length of the foci is the
length the last floor. Find the equation of the tower.
Given:
Height=200 meters

center= (0,0)

Length of the middle floor= 40 meters

length of the last floor= 55 meters

Unknown: Equation
Formula:

x2 y2
=1 (center at the origin)
a2 b 2

Solution: Since the tower is standing vertically then we can say that the conjugate axis of our
tower is the x-axis. We are given the length of the middle floor of the tower; we can determine
our two vertices {a} (a is the distance from the center to the vertex). We can also determine the
value of {b} (b is the height of the object or rather our tower) because we are given the height
of the tower. Since we are given the height of the tower, we can also determine the distance from
the foci to the endpoint of the latus rectum.
