ABSTRACT
Frangible bullet material using Cu10%Sn Composite with
warm compaction method characterization has been done. This
composite is made by a powder metallurgy method with 99,7%
purity. Warm compaction method is a method of adding the
temperature at the time of compaction. It aims to eliminate the
sintering process. The procedures for making these composites is
mixing the powder with the aim of homogenising and compacting
the powder by adding temperature. This research use pressure
variations 300, 400, 500, 600 MPa and compaction temperature
variations 100 and 200OC. The highest density noted on 200OC
from compaction temperature variations. It shows 8.33 and 8.31
g/cm3. As the result of mechanical testing, the highest hardness
noted on 600 MPa and 200OC. This method confirmed to form
Cu3Sn and Cu6Sn5 intermetallics.
