Present Value calculation

If you know the present value of losses please go directly to "Application to Transformers"
We use the following formula for calculation of Present Value of each kW over the life time of the product (see Present Value in Wikipedia):

Please enter your values in the yellow cells

Electricity price (EUR/kWh)
Hours of use
Interest rate
Life time (years)
Present value (EUR/kW)

Application to Transformers
The Present Value is used as No Load Loss Value (EUR/kW)
If you know the average load factor of the transformer in use you can also calculate the present value of
the Load Losses by using the formula (load factor is in percent of max allowed current):

0.055
8760
6.50%
30
6300

In our case:
Load factor in the transformer (% of Max current)
No Load Losses value (EUR/kW)
Load losses value (EUR/kW)

45%
6300
1280
