Medical/Clerical Assistant

M-F 8:00am-4:00pm

PAT-MED (Professional, Administrative, Technological with Medical Field)
Individual serves as Medial Assistant to Nursing and STD/HIV/Hepatitis division(s) to include
clerical & clinical duties.
Duties:
Performs general clerical duties such as typing, filing, answering phone.
Enters data into computer. Checks and /or verifies computer records. Generates computerized
reports, inventories, reminder cards, etc. Performs routine uploading and downloading of records.
Assist all immunization and STD clinics with computer work, paper work.
Assist with Hepatitis B and C case management and data entry utilizing the Indiana National
Electronic Disease Surveillance System (INEDSS).
Inventories and orders medical supplies for all clinical services.
Gives general information to the public on other agencies.
Does routine mailings, faxes, reminder and general information via telephone calls, copying of
materials.
Assist staff in the planning of and preparation for projects, programs, etc.
Provides support and coverage for other positions on as needed basis.
Prints Daily immunization Logs from CHIRP.
Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant who possess skills both administrative and clinical procedures
performed in an ambulatory care setting to the scope of legal and regulatory boundaries.
Possess strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Efficient and accurate keyboarding skills.
Basic knowledge of computer and ability to learn to perform tasks in various programs.
Ability to give simple, clear, accurate verbal and written instructions and information from
established facts and text.
Ability to read, understand, and follow basic verbal and written instructions and information.
Ability to maintain flexibility in daily task and scheduling of work time.
Working knowledge of general public health laws and regulations, and specific understanding of
County health policies.
Working knowledge of and ability to follow confidentially policy.
Reliable transportation.
