FORMER ASSIGNMENTS
I have grown as a mathematician through this
assignment because this worksheet allowed
us to explain why certain theorems worked in
similarity and why others did not work. In this
assignment we learned that the SSS
Theorem worked because it proved that if all
sides are the same or corresponding that the
angles would also have to be the exact same
also.

This next worksheet was an experimenting

with a debate we were have on a theorem
called Side-Side-Angle which believed that if
two sides were proportional and you fix an
angle to a certain lengths the triangles will be
similar. However we tried this method and it
was not true one of the triangles ended up not
even being able to form a shape of a triangle
because one of the sides wasnt able to
connect with the others.

The mirror magic was actually a pretty cool

group activity worksheet. The worksheet
taught us how we could use ourselves and
mirrors to estimate the height of an object. So
me and my group were given the task to
measure the height of the flagpole. So we
went outside and lined up the mirror and the
and our group member took the
measurements and calculated everything up
and estimated that the height of the flag was
32ft high.

This worksheet was pretty simple for me

because I was able to use the same exact
method that we were using in the mirror's
magic worksheet once I found that pattern it
took me 5 minutes to find all of the heights of
the spiders hanging.

This assignment helped me with my growth

mindset as a mathematician because it was
able to teach me that triangles are special
because they are the only shape that if two
triangles have corresponding sides
proportional, then the triangles are similar and
that was something new that I did not know.

This worksheet was one of the more

confusing ones for me mainly because at
times it becomes really hard for me to prove
why certain methods and statements are true.
However throughout the worksheet I would
ask questions to my group about their opinion
on the problem and after a while I finally
understood how to explain my thinking.
