After my anticipated date of matriculation (December 2016), I
will be seeking a position as an English/ Language Arts teacher in an ethnicity and exceptionality diverse school district. I will use my profound ability to instruct students in both literature and language, while also exercising my advanced skills of curriculum development, reading assessment and differentiated instruction. As an English teacher, I will research and implement strategies in English, Language Arts and literacy to meet the annual student learning objective so that each student will show growth in knowledge and skills as measured by classroom assessments using various forms of data. I will improve my skills in facilitating an efficient classroom environment by continuously researching and implementing strategies in the areas of classroom management and organization, student behavior management and time management. By also researching and implementing various learning community strategies, I will improve my knowledge on ways to motivate students, group students and provide inclusion for all students, especially those with exceptionalities. While recognizing the impact the school environment has on student learning, I will be an advocate for the implementation of building learning community strategies that are designed to increase cooperation and collaboration among students. Default Prevention Intern, Harris-Stowe State University August 2014 September 2015 As an intern working in the Default Prevention office, I am responsible for assisting the Default Prevention Coordinator in complying with procedures to initiate contact with withdrawn students regarding their Federal Student Loan status, including but not limited to: Review the basic borrower rights and responsibilities under the Federal Loan Program, including the six- month grace period. I aide in Identify and present options including repayment plans, deferments and forbearance as it relates to individual circumstances. Acts as liaison between borrowers and third-parties such as loan servicer and the Department of Education to facilitate timely resolutions for at-risk borrowers; further, to facilitate resolutions for delinquent borrowers in danger of defaulting.
